Everyone gets an equal opportunity to know what Fair Trade is. We distributed fairtrade products to the public which enabled people from different backgrounds to have more choice.
Past Events:
Fair Trade Hong Kong (FTHK) has cooperated with churches and charitable organizations. Under the support of Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and Drs Richard Charles and Esther Yewpick Lee Charitable Foundation, 2,770 anti-epidemic bags and 300 COVID- 19 Rapid Antigen Test Kits were distributed to the grassroots community. Therefore, disadvantaged groups including the cleaners, single elderly, ragpickers, the homeless, the unemployed, households living in subdivided flats, and underprivileged families were provided with instant assistance that supported their daily living. Through our action, we hope to relieve their extra burden brought by the epidemic, care for our community with warmth, and eventually achieve fairness and sustainability.
FTHK would ensure a sufficient supply of product with quality by building a trustworthy relationship with the local fair trade, organic and certificated products’ suppliers. Moreover, through distributing the fairtrade quinoa bread in the anti-epidemic bag, FTHK hopes to relieve the problem of imbalanced nutrition in the grassroots families. An anti-epidemic brochure, including the quinoa recipe, tips that help balancing the diet, and different community support service and hotline, has also been designed to support the disadvantaged groups.
